Dr. Julie Holland is a straight up boss.
She’s been at the forefront of Cannabis activism and harm reduction for many years. In addition to maintaining a private psychiatry practice in NY, Julie is also the author of several books. Her first book “Weekends at Bellevue” chronicles nine years of running a psychiatric emergency room. Her latest book, “Moody Bitches” has been translated into eleven languages! Julie has been featured on the Today show and CNN’s “Weed,” she's the editor of "The Pot Book" and "Ecstasy: The Complete Guide". She’s also the medical monitor for two PTSD studies, one using cannabis and the other MDMA assisted psychotherapy. Julie is such a boss, she’s one of the only people who has been a featured guest speaker at High NY more than once! As a board member of Doctors for Cannabis Regulation, Julie (together with fellow MDs, Dr. Sue Sisley & Dr. David Nathan) made up our Public Health & Cannabis panel (April 2016). At the High NY Event event, Doctors for Cannabis Regulation announced their national launch. It was super DOPE! Julie also spoke at our Cannabis, Couples, & Creativity event in-pair with her photographer, journalist, and visual artist husband, Jeremy Wolff. The couple sang songs and shared personal stories about how Cannabis facilitated communication and helped deepen their bond. Julie seamlessly weaved nuggets of Cannabis neuroscience in between songs and anecdotes, truly blessing us a beautifully intimate (and insightful!) evening. |
